Threats from Human Activity

One of the main impacts on the Serengeti is TOURISM. Tourism is good, but also bad. Let me explain why. Tourism allows people to pay for conservation efforts, and it brings awareness for trying to save the animals and ecosystem! Now for the bad part. The problem with tourism is that it also gives poachers much easier access to the ecostystem and disturbs migration and habitats.

Another sad fact?

The Serengeti Grassland biome is only 40% of what they used to be because of the growth of agriculture and settlements made by strange omnivores. Yeah, that's us. (I needed to use that word somewhere.)

Glossary
