Defining Features

What kind of ecosystem?

The African Grasslands of the Serengeti is a Terrestrial ecosystem - that means it's on land. Narrowing it down, it's a Savannah ecosytem, since it's usually dry and it can support a wide range of grazers and carnivores, and endo/exotherms.

How can something become a grassland ecosystem?

To fit into the Savannah area an ecosystem must:

a) Be mostly grassy areas

b) Be dry seasonally

c) Have few individual trees (That means no big groups of them)

d) Support a large range of grazers and carnivores.

The Grasslands of The Serengeti does this!
